Performance Test Engineer

Prmary Objectives

Develop and implement performance test frameworks for applications and systems across the bank.

Accountable for developing, enhancing, and executing performance test frameworks for identified critical applications.

Provide guidance to ensure that applications and systems meet the Non-Functional Requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including testers, business analysts, and developers to understand application / system requirements and performance expectations.

Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) assessments for new applications targeted for performance testing and prepare detailed feasibility study reports. Provide clear justifications to management when performance testing cannot be managed internally.

Design and deliver end-to-end (E2E) performance testing solutions for a wide range of applications and projects, ensuring coverage of critical components.

Develop, design, and execute performance test scripts using tools such as LoadRunner or JMeter, aligned with defined performance criteria and workload models.

Support test data preparation to simulate realistic usage patterns during performance testing.

Collect and analyze performance testing requirements for various applications, carry out workload analysis and develop performance test approach and plan.

Monitor infrastructure and platform performance using tools like SiteScope, Windows Performance Monitor (Perfmon), or similar utilities.

Provide regular updates, detailed test results, and comprehensive performance test reports to project stakeholders to ensure visibility into progress, risks, and issues.

Support critical project timelines, including performance test execution outside normal business hours (after office hours or weekends), when necessary.

Guide and mentor more junior team member by having occasional knowledge sharing session in order to increase the team technical competencies and product knowledge.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related field.

Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in Load and Performance Testing using industry-standard tools such as LoadRunner and JMeter.

Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), including performance testing methodologies and best practices.

Prior experience in banking, financial services, or insurance domains is highly desirable.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

ISTQB CTFL certification is mandatory, CT-PT is a plus.

Job Type : Contract

Contract length : 12 months

Pay : RM5, RM10,707.50 per month
