We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Housemaster to join our international boarding school community. Reporting to the Deputy Head (Pastoral) and the Headmaster, the HMM will play a crucial role in managing the resources, organisation, and administration of the House. This position is integral to ensuring the safety, discipline, and overall well‑being of all pupils, which are vital to our College's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Pastoral Care : Provide exceptional pastoral support to all pupils, identifying individual needs, strengths, and areas for improvement to foster their growth.
- Collaboration : Communicate with teaching staff to ensure that pupils’ backgrounds and circumstances contribute to their learning journey.
- Academic Support : Monitor pupils’ academic performance and assist with online learning to support Tutors and pupils alike.
- Counselling : Offer guidance on emotional, academic, social, or behavioural challenges in collaboration with the College Counsellor.
- Safeguarding : Adhere to the College’s Child Protection Policy and report concerns to the Deputy Head (Pastoral), maintaining accurate records on our safeguarding platform, ‘CPOMS’.
- Behaviour Management : Implement the College's Behaviour Policy, applying a fair system of rewards and consequences that promotes a positive House culture.
- General Administration : Manage daily operations in the House, including registration, attendance records, and liaising with medical staff regarding pupils’ health needs.
- Parent Engagement : Serve as parents' primary point of contact, ensuring they are well‑informed of their child's progress and addressing any concerns.
- Team Leadership : Mentor a team of tutors and staff, ensuring familiarity with child protection policies and promoting a safe environment.
- Facilities Management : Work with the Bursar and facilities staff to maintain House standards and ensure a safe, engaging living space for all pupils.
