Role Overview
We are searching for an enthusiastic and committed Network and Security Engineer to join our dynamic team at HFM. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in networking concepts and practices, excellent knowledge of firewall management, and experience with scripting for network automation. A solid understanding of systems administration is also necessary. This role requires working closely with our IT Infrastructure team to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of our network resources.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN), ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability to meet business needs.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot firewalls and use tools like Prometheus and PRTG to manage performance, enforce security policies, and prevent disruptions.
- Collaborate with systems and security teams to resolve connectivity issues, integrate servers, implement VPNs and access controls, and enhance cross‑platform network performance and security.
- Develop and maintain Bash and Python scripts for network automation, configuration management, and performance tuning.
- Maintain accurate network documentation (diagrams, configurations, incidents) and ensure compliance with standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001) and company policies.
- Manage vendor coordination for hardware procurement, support, and inventory, and implement tested backup and recovery procedures to ensure network resilience.
- Provide first‑level incident response, conduct root‑cause analysis, and support additional tasks or projects as assigned.
Requirements
BA / BSc in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent work experience).5+ years of experience in network security engineering.Effective communicator with strong documentation and technical writing abilities; native or near‑native English proficiency.Proficient with routers, switches, firewalls (FortiGate preferred), VPNs, and core network protocols (TCP / IP, DNS, BGP, OSPF, VLANs).Skilled in using Prometheus and PRTG for network monitoring, performance tracking, and troubleshooting.Scripting experience in Bash and Python, with working knowledge of Linux and Windows system administration.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet NSE, or AWS Cloud preferred but not required.Benefits
