What you’ll do
Health & Safety
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSSE policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
- Manage EV (Electric Vehicle) safety programs including battery storage, charging infrastructure, firefighting, and emergency preparedness.
- Conduct risk assessments, workplace inspections, and incident investigations.
- Drive contractor HSSE management and behavioral safety initiatives.
Fire Safety Management
Oversee fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, extinguishers, suppression, alarms).Lead the Emergency Response Team (ERT), conducting fire and evacuation drills.Ensure Fire Certificate renewal with BOMBA, including inspections and corrective actions.Security Management
Lead and supervise the security team, ensuring effective patrolling, access control, and incident handling.Develop security SOPs and manage site emergency / security risks (including wildlife threats).Coordinate with enforcement agencies (police, BOMBA, regulators).Occupational Health (Industrial Nurse Management)
Supervise the industrial nurse in occupational health services (medical surveillance, first aid, health checks).Ensure compliance with OSHA 2022, DOSH, and MOH requirements.Promote employee health and wellness programs.Oversee the Environment Coordinator in ensuring DOE compliance and sustainability programs.Drive ISO 14001 audit preparation and maintain certification readiness.Lead energy-saving, waste reduction, water reduction and carbon footprint reduction initiatives.Regulatory & Permit Management
Ensure timely renewal of Petrol & Diesel Permits and Fire Certificate (KPDN, DOE, BOMBA).Manage JKKP (DOSH) Certificate of Fitness (CF) applications and renewals for pressure vessels, lifting equipment, and other regulated machinery.Maintain statutory licenses, approvals, and compliance documentation.Audit & Compliance
Conduct internal safety audits and follow up on corrective actions.Prepare and support external audits (ISO 14001, DOSH, DOE, BOMBA).Track compliance status and ensure continuous improvement.Planning & Reporting
Develop and manage the HSSE annual budget plan.Prepare and implement the annual HSSE training plan (fire safety, legal, emergency response, environmental, health).Submit daily SQD (Safety, Quality, Delivery) reports.Lead monthly HSSE meetings at site level.Prepare and submit monthly HSSE reports to Global and APAC Safety teams.Coordinate with APAC Safety for initiatives, sharing lessons learned, and implementing global HSSE practices.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline.8–10 years of HSSE experience, with at least 3 years in managerial capacity.Strong knowledge of EV safety, fire systems, statutory permits, and ISO 14001.Familiarity with OSHA 1994 & 2022, USECHH, FMA, DOE, BOMBA, and JKKP requirements.Green Book (SHO registered with JKKP)Strong leadership and people management skills.Excellent stakeholder communication (local, APAC, and global).Analytical and proactive in risk management and audits.Strong budget planning and training development capability.Ability to drive Volvo’s global HSSE vision locally with measurable outcomes.Seniority level
