Company and Role Overview
This company operates in the leasing industry, providing comprehensive mobility solutions worldwide. The Local Risk and Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the second line of defense for the organization by establishing and maintaining effective risk and compliance frameworks. The role includes oversight of risk exposures, ensuring compliance with local laws and group policies, and providing strategic risk insights to support governance and decision-making. During transitions, this individual may also temporarily manage first-line activities related to credit, operational, and control risks.
Key Responsibilities
Risk & Compliance Framework : Implement, oversee, and continuously improve the risk and compliance management systems.
Governance : Actively participate in local governance committees, providing oversight and constructive feedback.
Risk Monitoring : Track overall risk exposure, evaluate macroeconomic and ESG-related risks, and ensure alignment with internal risk indicators.
Regulatory Compliance : Monitor evolving regulations, assess their impact, and support the first line in risk mitigation and compliance activities.
Team & Resources : Build a competent team with adequate resources and ensure Level 2 Controllers operate independently.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing : Work with peers across regions to share best practices and contribute to group-wide improvements.
Reporting & Escalation : Escalate significant compliance issues and maintain oversight of regulatory audit follow-ups.
Support Local Authorities : Assist the legal team in managing day-to-day communication with regulatory bodies and ensure accurate and timely regulatory submissions.
Attend and / or chair local risk and compliance committees, ensuring proper representation and escalation of risk-related matters.
May receive delegated authority for specific risk areas, subject to appropriate oversight.
Requirements
3–5+ years in financial services, risk, compliance, or regulatory functions (leasing experience preferred).
Strong understanding of financial and non-financial risks and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Proven skills in financial analysis, internal controls, and compliance management.
Confident in decision-making, collaboration, and cross-functional communication.
Leadership experience with high standards of integrity and professionalism in multicultural environments.
