Job description

We are seeking a Legal Manager to support our expanding hospitality group across Malaysia, Japan, and the UK. This role offers a unique mix of hospitality law, corporate transactions, and financing work within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Focus Areas :

Hospitality Contracts – Drafting and negotiating supplier / service agreements, hotel management contracts, leases, licensing, and vendor arrangements.
Corporate & M&A – Advising on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, and strategic partnerships.
Financing – Reviewing financing and security documents, liaising with lenders, and supporting group financing arrangements.

The role also includes advising on compliance, supporting hotel openings and operations, and working closely with Finance, HR, Development, and Operations teams.

This is an opportunity for lawyers who want to broaden their practice beyond pure corporate work into a dynamic industry, while still sharpening their expertise in M&A and financing.

To successfully fill this role, you shall have the right attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow :

Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognised university and a qualified Advocate & Solicitor in Malaysia.

8–10 years post-qualification experience , preferably with a combination of legal firm and in-house legal exposure.

Strong grasp of commercial, corporate, tenancy / real estate, and employment law — ideally with hospitality industry exposure.

Solid experience in drafting and negotiating various types of contracts.

Fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex legal concepts simply and practically.

High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proactive, independent, and able to work with minimal supervision while also being a team player.

Comfortable working in a lean team and willing to take a hands-on approach when necessary.
