Job title : Network Engineer

Salary : MYR 8,000

Location : Shah Alam

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Dell and Huawei managed switches (VLANs, trunking, link aggregation, QoS, STP, etc.).
  • Administer and troubleshoot SonicWall and FortiGate firewalls, including policy creation, NAT, VPN setup (IPSec / SSL), threat prevention, and firmware upgrades.
  • Monitor network performance, health, and availability using appropriate tools.
  • Perform periodic network assessments and apply tuning or upgrades as needed.
  • Plan and implement network segmentation, security policies, and failover mechanisms.
  • Manage routing protocols, static and dynamic routes, and IP addressing schemes.
  • Coordinate with ISPs and vendors for WAN links and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct regular firewall and network audits to ensure compliance with internal and external security standards.
  • Participate in infrastructure design, capacity planning, and implementation of new network services.
  • Provide Tier 2 / 3 support for escalated network-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network layouts, configurations, and change logs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications preferred : Fortinet NSE 4 / 5, SonicWall CSSA / CSSP, CCNA / CCNP, Huawei HCIA / HCIP.
  • Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining Dell and Huawei Layer 2 / 3 switches.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with SonicWall and FortiGate firewall solutions, including :
  • VPN (IPSec, SSL); NAT / PAT; Web Filtering; Application Control; Intrusion Prevention
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols : TCP / IP, VLANS, DNS, DHCP, STP, BGP, OSPF.
  • Familiar with network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., PRTG, Wireshark, SolarWinds).
  • Understanding of high availability and failover concepts.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role managing enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Proven track record with Dell and Huawei switches and SonicWall / FortiGate firewall configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to be on-call for critical network support and incident response.
  • Experience in contact centre or high-availability environments.
  • Exposure to network automation tools or scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ITIL-based service management processes.
