Senior Account Executive

ASTAR Steel Sdn Bhd, a reputable steel manufacturer based in Senai, Johor, is seeking a dedicated Senior Account Executive to support our Finance Department in the preparation of management accounts, budgeting, cash flow reporting, project accounting, and financial analysis. This full-time position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for the company.

What you’ll be doing

Preparing monthly Management Accounts , including variance analysis and RRPT reporting

Preparing monthly cash flow and assisting in the development of the annual budget

Maintaining and updating audit schedules , stock listings, and supporting documents for review

Managing bank-related processes such as IBG submissions, BA purchase submission, and bank reconciliation review

Reviewing journal vouchers and verifying financial documentation and requisition forms

Preparing and finalising project P&L accounts , and reviewing related project claims

Handling credit control matters

Assisting with year-end closing and preparation / drafting of financial statements

Liaising with external parties including auditors, tax agents, bankers, and company secretary

Supporting the implementation and compliance of ISO 9001 : 2015 Quality Management System

Performing any other finance-related tasks as required by management

What we’re looking for

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role

Hands‑on experience with full set of accounts , monthly reporting, and year-end closing (SQL / QNE experience is an advantage)

Strong understanding of financial reporting, documentation, and audit requirements

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently

Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise across departments and with external parties
