Job description

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Advanced / Higher / Graduate Diploma, Degree, Advanced Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a PHP Developer / Fullstack Developer
  • Advanced knowledge of PHP, MySQL, Magento, Laravel, Hyperf, Redis, Vue.js, HTML, and CSS. Familiarity with version control tools (e.g.,Git), Composer, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Must fluent in Mandarin, optionally English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Proficiency in modern frameworks such as Magento, Laravel or Hyperf
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex backend issues (Magento, Laravel) and frontend bugs (Vue.js) under pressure.
  • Excellent Communication and Collaboration skills
  • Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest frontend technologies and trends
  • Capable of working seamlessly with cross-functional teams including Project Managers, Frontend Developers, Designers, and QA professionals to ensure smooth project execution.

Responsibilities

Core Development Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, and support e-commerce platforms using Magento and Laravel. This includes customizing theme, developing module, and integrating extension tailored to client needs.
  • Develop and deploy new system features and capabilities in Magento and Laravel, integrating third-party services such as payment gateways, shipping services, and ERP systems.
  • Implement responsive, interactive, and visually compelling user interfaces using Vue.js, React.js, HTML, and CSS, ensuring that the e-commerce site is both functional and engaging for users.
  • Improve application speed and responsiveness by applying advanced caching methods, optimizing database queries, and refining code quality across both backend (PHP, MySQL) and frontend (Vue.js) components.
  • Remain current with the latest security standards and protocols, proactively identify potential vulnerabilities, and implement necessary patches or safeguards to protect the platform. Ensure safe transaction processing and secure data management across all e-commerce systems.
  • Develop customised modules, plugins, and frontend components in Magento and Laravel based on specific business requirements. Adapt and extend backend workflows, including administrative panel configurations and logic customization, to align with operational goals.

    • Code Quality & Development Standards :

  • Contribute to peer code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and consistency across projects. Ensure alignment with established coding conventions and best practices in technologies such as Magento, Laravel, PHP, MySQL, Vue.js, and other frontend tools.
  • Enforce web development and PHP best practices, ensure clean code principles, efficient use of design patterns, and industry standards in the development for both backend and frontend implementation.
  • Apply automated unit testing (PHPUnit, Selenium) and integration tests to ensure the deployment of high-quality, bug-free code. Collaborate closely with the QA team to ensure all features are properly tested before production.

    • Problem Solving & Issue Resolution :

  • Analyze and fix complex technical issues affecting application performance or functionality across backend systems (Magento, Laravel, MySQL) and frontend layers (Vue.js, HTML, CSS), ensuring stability and responsiveness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system abnormalities in both frontend and backend issues. Work closely with QA and DevOps teams to identify root causes and implement effective, timely solutions.
  • Handle urgent issues or requests, ensuring quick changes with minimal disruption to the live system.
