Summary
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a laboratory, ensuring that all activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. They manage a team of laboratory technicians and scientists, and work closely with other departments to ensure that laboratory results are accurate and timely.
Responsibilities
- Manage laboratory operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards
- Supervise laboratory staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that laboratory results are accurate and timely
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, and ensure that they are properly calibrated and maintained
- Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results
- Manage laboratory data and records, and ensure that they are properly stored and maintained
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and make recommendations for process improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as biology, chemistry, or medical technologyMinimum of 5 years experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a teamExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other departmentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectivelyAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple tasksCommitment to continuous learning and improvementKnowledge of laboratory safety regulations and quality standardsExperience with laboratory equipment, laboratory information systems and advanced technology.Key Responsibilities
