Position
ASIA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL seeks to hire an IGCSE Maths / Add Maths / Physics Teacher with experience of working in an international school, commencing Nov 2025 . Reporting to : Head of Department
Purpose of Role

Key Responsibilities
General
Follow policies and practices reflecting the school’s commitment to high achievement, amazing learning and effective feedback.
Establish understanding of the importance and role of Primary education in developing pupils’ spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development and preparing students for the modern world.
Use data to identify pupils who are underachieving and create and implement plans of action to support them.
Work effectively as a Class Tutor as part of a designated Year Team.
Curriculum
Ensure curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all pupils, including high-ability pupils and those with special educational or linguistic needs.
Develop pupils’ literacy, numeracy and information technology skills through the subject.
Set high expectations for pupil progress and achievement.
Develop pupils’ individual and collaborative study skills to become increasingly independent.
Establish a partnership with parents and carers to involve them in learning and provide information about curriculum, attainment, progress and targets.
Communication, Marketing and PR
Ensure professional communication between colleagues, parents and students at Asia Pacific International School.
Publicise and celebrate achievements.
Assist with open evenings, consultation events and other school-related events.
Contribute to marketing activities for Asia Pacific International School.

Other Expectations
Participate in the school’s performance appraisal scheme to develop and enhance performance.
Undertake other duties as required by SLT or Line Manager, especially with regard to the school’s administrative function.
Adhere to school policies including Safeguarding, Race Equality, Equal Opportunities, Code of Conduct and Health & Safety.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Relevant degree with a post-graduate diploma in education / teaching or a bachelor of education with teaching practicum relevant to Maths / Add Maths / Physics, preferred.
Minimum three (3) years’ full-time teaching Maths / Add Maths / Physics in an international school.
Familiarity with Maths / Add Maths / Physics IGCSE is required.
Computer literate with good interpersonal communication skills.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
