Primary Role :
The EHR Clinical Systems Analyst serves as a critical liaison between clinical, administrative, and IT teams to support and optimize the hospital’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Hospital Information System (HIS) platforms, with a focus on Luminas-MedWorxs and other clinical systems. This position plays a key role in analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting workflows that enhance clinical operations, documentation, billing accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
The analyst is responsible for evaluating clinical and revenue cycle processes, developing electronic forms and reports, maintaining data integrity and system performance, and supporting compliance with patient privacy regulations such as HIPAA, the Cayman Islands Data Protection Law (DPL), and GDPR.
Key Responsibilities :
- Analyze, maintain and optimize clinical and billing workflows across EHR and HIS platforms such as PACS, LIS and other middleware.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, billing staff, and IT teams to implement system improvements aligned with clinical and operational goals.
- Configure, maintain, and support EHR templates, forms, clinical documentation tools, and user interfaces.
- Conduct risk assessments, privacy reviews, and data audits to ensure adherence to data protection standards (HIPAA, DPL, GDPR).
- Provide Clinical Systems training to all staff and manage training programs and required certifications.
- Act as subject matter expert (SME) for MedWorxs and related clinical applications, providing advanced troubleshooting and escalation support.
- Ensure data accuracy, completion, and security within clinical and financial systems; monitor data integrity across integrated systems.
- Develop and maintain system and workflow documentation, SOPs, user guides, and training materials.
- Facilitate training and ongoing education for clinical users and staff to improve adoption and system utilization.
- Collaborate with developers and third-party vendors to design and test new interfaces, upgrades, and customizations.
- Participate in system testing, change control, and go-live support for system enhancements or new module rollouts.
- Proactively monitor system performance, user access, and audit logs to identify potential issues or security risks.
- Prepare reports and dashboards that support decision-making in clinical operations and revenue cycle management.
- Assist in policy development related to clinical data usage, system access, and documentation compliance.
- Promote a culture of data governance, health IT adoption, and continuous improvement across all departments.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, and / or equivalent certifications and experience in the healthcare industryMandatory minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical system or EHR analyst role in a hospital or healthcare environmentMandatory experience with EHR platforms such as Cerner, Meditech, Epic, MedSphere, ECW, or other Tier 1 / Tier 2 systemsMandatory working knowledge of clinical workflows and hospital department functions (nursing, lab, pharmacy, radiology, billing, etc.)Strong understanding of standard clinical IT systems. EHRs, PACS, LIS, Billing and Coding, Telemetry and Vitals, etc.)Strong understanding of Medical Coding (CPT / HCPC, SNOMED CT, ICD10, LOINC, etc.)Strong understanding of Medical IT Protocols (HL7 / FHIR, DICOM etc.)Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance; familiarity with the Cayman Islands DPL and GDPR is beneficialDemonstrated experience in EHR configuration, form design, and interface troubleshootingProficiency in Excel and reporting.Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects in a dynamic clinical environmentBenefits :
