Job title : Translator for English-Malay translation projects

Workplace : Work from home in Malaysia

Employment type : Full-time & Permanent & Remote (Work from home in Malaysia)

Working hours : Monday – Friday : 09 : 00 – 18 : 00 (Malaysia time) with one-hour lunch break.

Key Responsibilities

• Translation of software, technical and multimedia texts and collaterals from English into Malay.
• Review (editing and proofing, 'revision') of translations done by other translators.
• Understanding and correctly complying with RWS’s linguistic and project procedures and processes.
• Meeting the required standards for quality, throughput and delivery deadlines.
• Acting as lead translator by taking ownership for accounts, ensuring timely delivery and translation quality, project planning and assignments to the appropriate resources, communicating closely with internal / external linguistic resources and ensuring all project requirements are fulfilled, answering linguistic queries and providing support as necessary to project managers and linguistic resources, performing QA checks and quality evaluation, purchase order management and issuance, managing Internal Client Review (implementation, rebuttal).
• Managing terminology effectively.
• Linguistic QA testing of localized software, help and websites.
• Linguistic QA checking of localized DTP and audio output.
• Using required translation tools in the most effective way, especially with regard to RWS’s language technology.
• Full linguistic support for RWS project managers on your projects.
• Communicating & attending meeting with client / client reviewer as a representative of RWS on linguistic matters.
• Providing linguistic support for other RWS departments such as DTP, Engineering and Audio.
• Accurately recording daily working time through use of Timesheet program.
• Manage any other ad‑hoc tasks as assigned by Line Manager.
