M&E Engineer (Pharmaceutical Industry)

The M&E Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal performance and compliance of mechanical and electrical systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This includes managing the Reverse Osmosis (RO) water system, conducting equipment maintenance, and overseeing qualification processes such as Operational Qualification (OQ) and Performance Qualification (PQ).

Working location : Abiotide Sdn Bhd, Kanthan, Perak

Job Responsibilities :

Operate, monitor, and maintain the Reverse Osmosis (RO) water system to ensure compliance with pharmaceutical-grade water standards.

Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance of production machines and facility equipment.

Responsible for preparing technical documentation, including preventive maintenance procedures, equipment specifications, Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs), Equipment Operating Procedure (EOPs), and validation reports.

Conduct equipment validation, perform troubleshooting, and recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance reliability and efficiency.

Manage automated systems and utilities to ensure continuous and efficient operations.

Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment servicing, repairs, and facility upgrades.

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure production continuity.

Ensure all maintenance and qualification activities are conducted in accordance with GMP and regulatory requirements.

Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Liaison with government authorities as required.

Job Requirements :

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.

Experience in a pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environment is an advantage.

Familiarity with water systems, utilities, and validation processes.

Possess knowledge and experience in HVAC systems for cleanroom-grade environments.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Good communication skills and experience managing vendor relationships.

Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
