About the Role

Our client, a leading player in the retail and consumer services sector, is seeking a visionary General Manager of Information Technology to lead its digital transformation agenda. This pivotal role offers the autonomy to shape and execute the organisation’s technology strategy – ensuring scalability, resilience, and innovation across all aspects of the business. The successful candidate will act as a strategic advisor to the executive leadership team, driving the adoption of emerging technologies and data‑driven insights to strengthen business performance and customer engagement. Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the company’s digital transformation roadmap, aligning technology priorities with long‑term business objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, identifying and integrating emerging technologies that enhance business competitiveness.
  • Oversee the architecture, implementation, and optimisation of scalable enterprise systems.
  • Develop and manage IT and digital budgets to ensure efficiency and return on investment.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing technology team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
  • Drive the use of data analytics and business intelligence to enable informed, data‑driven decisions.
  • Establish and maintain robust cybersecurity, business continuity, and governance frameworks.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, partners, and service providers to ensure operational excellence and cost effectiveness.
  • Promote cross‑functional collaboration to ensure technology initiatives deliver measurable business impact.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably within large‑scale retail, FMCG, or consumer‑driven industries.
  • Proven success in leading digital transformation and enterprise technology programs.
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to bridge business and technology priorities.
  • Deep expertise in cloud solutions, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and IT governance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s preferred).
