Job Purpose
To supervise and manage automotive testing and inspection activities in accordance with relevant UN Regulations (ECE) and oversee the surveillance of Conformity of Production (CoP) processes to ensure ongoing compliance of type-approved vehicles and components.
Key Responsibilities
Testing Supervision
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise vehicle or component testing as per applicable UN Regulations (e.g., UN R10, R48, R79, R100, etc.).
- Validate test methods, ensure testing equipment meets calibration and accreditation requirements.
- Witness and verify test results submitted by designated testing facilities or manufacturers.
- Prepare and review technical test reports and documentation for submission to approval authorities or certification bodies.
Conformity of Production (CoP) Surveillance
Conduct periodic inspections and audits of manufacturers' production lines and quality control systems.Evaluate CoP documentation including process controls, sampling plans, inspection records, and product traceability.Ensure corrective actions are implemented when non-conformities are detected.Regulatory Compliance & Technical Consultation
Stay updated with amendments and developments in UNECE regulations and global harmonized standards.Provide technical guidance to clients, test engineers, and regulatory teams regarding compliance interpretations and test specifications.Liaise with type approval authorities and act as the technical representative during audits and regulatory reviews.Reporting & Documentation
Compile and maintain accurate technical records, inspection reports, and audit findings.Support the preparation of technical dossiers for type approval or CoP revalidation.Quality Assurance Support
Ensure testing and inspection activities comply with ISO / IEC for labs) and ISO / IEC for inspection bodies), where applicable.Participate in internal quality audits and contribute to continual improvement initiatives.Qualifications & Requirements
Education :
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Experience :
Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive testing, homologation, or technical compliance.Hands-on experience with UN ECE regulations and Conformity of Production (CoP) procedures.Familiarity with test facilities and standards such as ISO, SAE, IEC, and GTRs.Skills & Competencies :
Strong technical understanding of vehicle systems and regulatory testing procedures.Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF is an added advantage.Excellent report writing, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages (e.g., German, French, or Chinese) is a plus.Certifications (Preferred) :
Recognized auditor / inspector qualification (e.g., ISO 9001, VDA 6.3).Training or accreditation from approval authorities or designated technical services.
