Technical Engineer (Security – Customer Care)

Location : Petaling Jaya

Reporting To : Manager / Team Lead

Employment Type : Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a

Technical Engineer (Security – Customer Care)

to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting security infrastructure while ensuring that operations are executed efficiently, securely, and in alignment with quality standards. You'll play a key part in preventive maintenance, technical support (on-site and remote), and project assistance, all while adhering to internal systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance Scheduling

– Coordinate and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.

  • Preventive Maintenance Execution
  • – Conduct remote or on-site maintenance to ensure infrastructure integrity.

  • Operational Support
  • – Provide timely and effective technical support to customers, both onsite and remotely.

  • Documentation Management
  • – Prepare and upload detailed reports into the Field Service Management System (FSMS).

  • Project Assistance
  • – Support complex installations involving multiple security technologies.

  • Technical Issue Documentation
  • – Record and update technical issues for continuous improvement.

  • Testing and Commissioning
  • – Collaborate with customers to validate system functionality during project testing.

  • Compliance & Standards
  • – Ensure all activities align with technical standards and company policies.

  • Knowledge Sharing
  • – Lead internal sessions to foster team learning and development.

  • Time Management
  • – Maintain accurate timesheet entries for project tracking.

  • Standby Rotation Participation
  • – Provide on-call technical support as part of the department's rotation schedule.

    Qualifications & Experience

  • Education
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (Computer / Telecommunication), or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise
  • Strong understanding of security concepts and network packet analysis tools
  • Experience with security configuration and technologies such as Cisco, Fortigate, Palo Alto Networks, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne
  • Preferred certifications : CCNA, CCNA-Security, or equivalent
  • Professional Experience
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in a technical security role, ideally involving deployment, troubleshooting, and support.
  • Communication Skills
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical users.
  • Customer Management
  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Adaptability
  • Quick to learn new tools and respond to emerging threats in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidentiality
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive security data.
