Overall Responsibilities
The Licensing Sales & Marketing / Retail role collaborates with the Business Unit Head (BUH) to achieve the company goals across all categories and marketing initiatives in Malaysia and Singapore. Through effective planning and budgeting, the role aims to reach quarterly / annual revenue targets, develop and execute sales strategies to generate leads, convert them into opportunities, and maintain strong client relationships. The role also designs and implements marketing strategies with a major focus on offline retail, and supports online programs to drive licensee sell-in, retail programs, retail pop-ups, and product sell-through for the licensed property (brand) aligned with regional strategy from the Licensor.
Main Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Development
 
Direct sales responsibility (by brand, country, or category, depending on strategy) including quarterly targets, due diligence, product knowledge, and prospective client engagement.
Perform sales planning and reporting functions including pipeline building, gap analyses, forecasting and re-forecasting, market / brand / category reports, and evaluation of opportunities and / or brand extensions.Develop expertise to maximize performance, build brands, and sustain business growth.Client Management and ServiceManage clients ensuring compliance with Licensors’ policies and support licensees in fulfilling obligations and maximizing performance.
Co-design a business management calendar with BUH covering sales strategy, marketing activities, brand-building objectives, and related team activities (customer service, licensee sell-in, retail programs, sell-through support).Report to BUH on key initiatives, reporting requirements, compliance monitoring, and core client management functions.Monitor Licensee ObligationsConduct regular business reviews with licensees to ensure product development, distribution, and advertising / promotion plans align with contractual obligations.
Ensure retail visibility for brands and licensed products.Account ReceivablesCoordinate with Finance to ensure licensees remit license fees and submit royalty reports on time.
Marketing / RetailDevelop and execute marketing and retail strategies per the annual plan for the licensed property as defined by the licensor.
Provide a structured planning and execution approach; research external opportunities and ideas.Collaborate with stakeholders (Regional Marketing Manager, Trade, Retailers, Licensees) to execute programs.Manage external agencies (guidelines, workflow, timely delivery, copywriting, and collateral approvals).Strengthen retail relationships and secure prominent product placement; build a marketing calendar and utilize approved collateral for retail support.Job Requirements
University degree in relevant field or extensive professional experience.Minimum 3-4 years of experience with strong business development in sales and related brand management. Experience managing Korean entertainment brands / IPs is advantageous.Proven track record of sales achievement in Malaysia and Singapore.Ability to perform in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Strong organizational, presentation, and team leadership skills.Fluency in Microsoft applications and database solutions.Personable and diplomatic in handling clients at all levels.Seniority level
