Position Overview :

Sea Hawk Global Lines Sdn Bhd, a leading logistics and supply chain provider established in 2003, is seeking a proactive and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee and manage the operational integrity, safety, and maintenance of our logistics infrastructure — including warehouses, container yards, office buildings, and related utilities.

This role is essential in ensuring that all facilities meet regulatory compliance, support operational efficiency, and provide a safe, functional environment for logistics, warehousing, and transport operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical knowledge of facility systems, and experience managing large-scale logistics or industrial properties.

Key Responsibilities : Facilities Operations & Maintenance :

  • Oversee daily operations and maintenance of all logistics facilities including warehouses, container yards, loading docks, transport depots, and office premises.
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules for mechanical systems (e.g. dock levellers, HVAC, lighting, security, forklifts, fire suppression, generators).
  • Ensure all warehouse and storage areas are in operational condition to support 24 / 7 logistics activities.
  • Manage inspections, repairs, and servicing of infrastructure such as roofs, gates, plumbing, electrical wiring, drainage, and fencing.

Vendor & Contractor Management :

  • Coordinate with service providers for maintenance, cleaning, pest control, landscaping, and security services.
  • Oversee the performance of third-party vendors to ensure service quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Evaluate, select, and negotiate contracts with external vendors for facility services and equipment purchases.
  • Health, Safety, Security & Compliance :

  • Ensure all facilities comply with occupational health and safety (OSH) standards, fire codes, and local building regulations.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols, emergency response plans, and equipment checks (e.g. fire extinguishers, CCTV, alarms).
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities (e.g., DOSH, BOMBA, MBSA) for facility-related audits, licenses, and inspections.
  • Space Planning & Asset Management :

  • Plan facility layouts to optimize space usage for inventory storage, vehicle access, and workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain a detailed inventory of facility assets, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper tagging and recordkeeping.
  • Support expansion projects, renovations, or relocations by coordinating construction, design, and compliance processes.
  • Energy & Cost Management :

  • Monitor facility utility usage (electricity, water, diesel) and implement initiatives to reduce energy consumption and cost.
  • Recommend and implement sustainability measures such as LED retrofits, rainwater harvesting, and solar systems where applicable.
  • Team Supervision & Coordination :

  • Lead and manage the facilities team including maintenance technicians, security personnel, and facility coordinators.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training to ensure operational readiness and safety standards are upheld.
  • Reporting & Budgeting :

  • Prepare monthly reports on facility condition, repair logs, compliance status, and CAPEX / OPEX expenditures.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring the annual facilities maintenance budget, including forecasting for upgrades and renovations.
  • Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Building Services, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in facilities or building operations management, preferably in a logistics, warehouse, or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of building systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire systems), M&E maintenance, and logistics facility layouts.
  • Familiarity with Malaysian building codes, fire regulations (BOMBA), DOSH, and OSHA compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic facility management systems / software.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and vendor negotiation skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, prioritize repairs, and make cost-effective decisions under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
