  • Providing legal advisory regarding land, merger and acquisition, licensing, encroachment, fraud, litigation, breach of contract terms, etc.
  • Drafting, negotiating and reviewing documents and contracts; management and administration of legal documents.
  • Identifying, researching and resolving legal issues.
  • Liaising and coordinating with external counsel on all legal issues and matters that may arise from time to time.
  • Coaching and supervising legal assistant(s).
  • Monitoring legislative developments, identifying emerging issues to the company, and strategic counsel to help the business.
  • Undertaking such other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor of Laws from recognized Universities.
  • At least 8 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in-house experience.
  • Preferably admitted as an advocate and solicitor in Malaysia or Commonwealth jurisdictions.
  • Strong understanding of legal concepts and principles.
  • A high degree of integrity.
  • Able to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to handle a wide variety of responsibilities and priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Willing to be based in Ipoh and travel for work purposes.
