As a Train Manager at Eastern & Oriental Express, A Belmond Train, you will support Train operations, including responsible for the safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation of train services. This role oversees onboard staff, ensures timely departures and arrivals, handles service disruptions, and upholds high standards of safety, service, and compliance with railway regulations. Additionally, you will coordinate training and development programs, performance management of the team. This role involves working closely with the Senior Train Manager and General Manager in daily operations and contributing to initiatives that enhance organizational culture and employee satisfaction.   • Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, ensuring their needs and expectations are met or exceeded.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Train Manager, oversee all aspects of the train's operations, including scheduling, staff management, and logistics to ensure a seamless and punctual journey.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of service professionals, such as stewards, chefs, and attendants, ensuring that they deliver top-quality service. Conduct formal team assessment on very regular basis to ensure the achievement of the all excellence KPI metrics.
  • Ensure the safety and security of passengers, crew, and the train itself. Implement and enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Coordinate dining services on board, working closely with the culinary team to provide a fine dining experience.
  • Manage onboard amenities and services, including entertainment, spa services, and other luxury offerings.
  • Ensure the train is maintained in impeccable condition and that the sleeping compartments and public areas are kept clean and well-maintained.
  • Enhance the overall passenger experience by personalise services, addressing passenger concerns, and managing special requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Hospitality management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in luxury hospitality operations or luxury hotel management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of LQA standard and luxury service
  • Ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and hospitality software systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

    International exposure will be considered a plus. You must speak English and Chinese. Additional languages, such as Japanese, Korean, Cantonese, French and German, are a benefit. We welcome a diversity of backgrounds, ethnicities and religions.

    Experience in the hospitality industry is a bonus, but not a necessity.
