Job Description
As a Junior Trader for the G&O Platform, you will be a part of the dynamic and multi-disciplinary team, and you will be involved in the trading activities of LDC G&O Platform across the SEA region.
Reporting to Head of G&O, this role will contribute to the profit generation by providing information pertaining to domestic and export grains market. This role has a strong focus on analytical work to strengthen the destination Regional Commercial Team, and to ensure constant synthesis / communication with the Global, Regional, and Local teams.
Main Responsibilities :
- Cash Trading / Merchandising : Contribute to the cash trading / merchandising of G&O products (corn, soybean, SBM, wheat, amongst others), in coordination with rest of the SG team / destination teams in Asia / product line teams globallyTake ownership of a specific flow of G&O products / destinations and coordinate with the relevant internal stakeholdersParticipate in commercial discussions, pricing, trades negotiation, futures & FX hedging management, overview and optimization of executions / logisticsDevelop and strengthen the commercial relationships / partnerships with both LDC existing and potential customersChallenge, monitor, and optimize the existing G&O cash book in Asia (i.e. freight, logistics, terms)Contribute to providing the product line teams with liquidity access at destination and maximizing the sales volumeSupport LDC G&O growth in the SEA region by proposing / identifying any relevant business development and investment opportunities
- Information Gathering / Market Positioning : Maintain / Analyse all relevant data and provide input and help formulate the trading strategy for SEAIdentify and propose trading opportunities based on the analysis of corn / SBM / other feed grains’ relative competitivenessProvide updates of regulatory, political, and consumers’ preference changes affecting each commodity or downstream use of commodityEngage with both internal and external information resourcesLeverage LDC market position and create relationships with a view to increase the inflow of relevant information available to the Global / Regional / Local Trading teamsEnsure constant communication with different destination and origin teams to ensure flow of information related to SEA flows within the Product Line. Participate in all the relevant daily / weekly product line calls
- Data Analysis / Stakeholder Engagement : Analyze, synthesize, and disseminate the market / customer / activity information to the relevant partiesActively participate and contribute to the Global / Regional / Local teams’ discussions via chats / callsUpdate the balance sheetsLead and coordinate research for the SEA region to ensure constant synthesis / communication with the Global, Regional, and Local teams

Experiences :
At least 1-3 years of relevant working experiences in agribusiness / commodity / feed / food / etc industryExperience in agricultural / G&O / corn / meals / wheat, is highly preferredKnowledge of Supply & Demand factors, pricing trends, regulations affecting commodity tradeExperience and / or interest in analyzing balance sheets and working with researchers / data analystsExperience in working with teams in different geographical locations (i.e. Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Philippines, Myanmar, etc)Experience working with other commercial teams to design trading strategies is a plusAbility to source, aggregate, analyze, maintain up-to-date the data and research materialsAbility to analyze and interpret qualitative and quantitative informationAbility to formulate, communicate, defend market views, supported by analytical workStrong analytical skills with a keen eye for detailsGood business acumen and commercial awarenessAbility to understand the business needs, potential issues, and propose innovative ideas / solutionsStrong verbal and written communication skills, ability and willingness to interact effectively with all levels of employees & managementAbility to handle / prioritize multiple responsibilitiesAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentFlexibility on working hoursIndependent self-starter who takes initiative, and has a proactive attitude toward problems and issuesPossesses an entrepreneurial and humble mindsetTechnical Skills :
