Summary
Actuarial Service Centre Asia Pacific (ASCAP) is an APAC regional Centre of Excellence for Zurich Insurance Group, providing actuarial modelling, reporting and consulting services to the Zurich APAC regional office and Business Units in the APAC region.
We are looking for Life Insurance valuation and modelling actuaries at manager level (Manager, Executive Manager) for the development of financial models, SST AFR & NBV and IFRS17 analysis and reporting, calculation of insurance reserves and risk analysis (e.g. economic capital), etc. as well as projects for the Business Units, region and the group.
This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with a spirited and highly capable team, working closely with other actuarial teams and Chief Actuaries in the APAC region within Zurich Insurance Group. Additionally, it provides valuable exposure to the full spectrum of actuarial work and project experience across the APAC region, encompassing business units at various stages of maturity.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leadership
- A people manager who leads and develops a team of 2-4 actuaries including senior executive and executive
- Provide guidance, coaching and training to junior actuaries
Financial Modelling
Develop, enhance, and review Prophet Models in accordance with the Prophet Development FrameworkProduce documentation for the Prophet developments.Provide guidance to junior actuaries for Prophet modelling activitiesFinancial Reporting
IFRS17 : Analysis and reporting, provide forecast and management insights based on long-term financial reportingSwiss Solvency Test Available Financial Resources (SST AFR) & New Business Value (NBV) : Analysis and reportingSupport Business Units with local regulatory financial reportingAnalyse results and provide business insight to stakeholders in both the Asia Pacific business units and Corporate Centre, taking into account relevant business contextAdvisory and Consulting

Degree qualified, preferably in Actuarial studiesQualified or nearly qualified actuary of an internationally recognised actuarial institution (IFoA, SOA, IA, IAA)Minimum 6 years of relevant working experience in the life insurance industryKNOWLEDGE
Strong actuarial technicalityExperience in Prophet modelling is essential, additional programming skills (e.g. VBA, SQL, Python) are an added bonusFamiliarity with IFRS17, embedded value and economic capital or market consistent valuation conceptsKnowledge of accounting concepts, including an understanding of revenue accounts and balance sheetKnowledge of statistical and actuarial tools and techniquesSKILLS & COMPETENCIES
