System Engineer (IT)

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Systems Engineer to join our Infrastructure Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, support, and continuous improvement of our Enterprise Systems and Wintel Infrastructure.   Key Responsibilities Operational Support -Maintain and support an Enterprise Systems and Wintel Infrastructure, including performance tuning and patching. -Provide on-call support and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. -Provide timely onsite support to resolve incidents and ensure infrastructure availability. -Participate in standby support in systems related maintenance and upgrade activity. -Perform server / storage installation and configuration  -Perform server / storage data migrations, allocations, and P2V / V2V workload migrations. -Improve systems infrastrcture monitoring and build exception support via automation and self-service capabilities. -Identify systems related incident trends and support root cause investigations. -Share knowledge and build team capability through collaboration and documentation. -Ensure operational compliance with corporate and governance standards. Strategic Initiatives -Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends. -Contribute to the development of technology strategies and roadmaps. -Propose and implement technology improvements to enhance performance and reduce costs. -Collaborate with vendors and internal technology communities. -Support the optimisation of the team’s Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).   Planning and Process Improvement -Assist in developing technical skill roadmaps. -Contribute to workload estimation and planning. -Maintain accurate documentation including SOPs, configurations, and processes. -Adhere to Change Management processes and highlight operational risks when identified.   [Apply now at https : / / my.hiredly.com / jobs / jobs-malaysia-jos-job-system-engineer-it]

Requirements -IT qualifications in Wintel products, Virtualization and Backup solutions -3 - 5 years of Systems and Wintel engineering (or equivalent) experience in a medium to large organisation -A willingness to develop and promote new ideas and challenge the way things are done. -Effective communication skills - written, verbal and presentation; Skills -Support and Troubleshooting for Systems and Wintel Infrastructure solutions -Project Implementation for Systems and Wintel Infrastructure solutions -Technical Documentation Deliverables
