Site Reliability Engineer

Vistex is currently hiring a Site Reliability Engineer . The Vistex Site Reliability Engineer will be primarily responsible for service availability, performance, monitoring, incident response, and capacity planning. This is a highly technical, hands-on role with a strong focus on automation, accurate monitoring, actionable alerting, resilient design, strategic incident response, and blameless postmortems. The right candidate has worked on scalable cloud environments for hosting SaaS services. We’re searching for someone who is detail oriented, enjoys collaborating to develop real-world solutions, and positive experiences for every interaction.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cloud infrastructure and services to identify areas of improvement
• Collaborate with our support, operations, database, and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems
• Ability to track down root causes of various issues
• Generate incident reports for leadership and conduct blameless postmortems
• Implement and utilize monitoring and alerting tools to track trends and changes on systems in our environment
• Make reliability recommendations for various system types in the environment, such as Kubernetes, IaaS Instances, PaaS solutions, networking configurations, etc.
• Create or assist in the creation of automated tools to make various cloud environments more streamlined and reliable
• Ability to be a technical advisor to other engineers
• Research and implement new technology to keep the team at the front of innovation
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by various monitoring systems and our ticketing system
• Champion security solutions from a reliability perspective
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call environment for large-scale, distributed environments
• Performing other tasks as defined and approved by leadership
