WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Sample Preparation Supervisor to join our team in Johor, Malaysia. AHK Malaysia provides services to the mining, metals, refining and recycling industries in a variety of capacities including auditing, supervision, sampling and analysis of metals and minerals derived from the previously mentioned practices

As a Sample Preparation Supervisor, you are responsible for overseeing the full operations in the sample preparation facility from reception, moisture determination, sample preparation and sample dispatch. You will lead a team of Sample Prep Technicians and allocate shift patterns for staff. You will ensure that all staff will carry out analytical methods and standard operating practices to a high degree of precision and accuracy, ensuring that an effective and high quality analytical service is provided to meet reporting deadlines on the various types of samples / commodities submitted to the laboratory for analytical evaluation.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

• IT Savvy – Proficient in Excel
• Proficient in mathematics
• Excellent in written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inform others.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy and precision.
• Ability to develop the skills and knowledge within a team and create an environment where knowledge sharing is a priority.
• Familiarity or appreciation of international ISO standards would be advantageous.
• Ability to drive (clean driving licence).
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in gathering, entering and checking data and information.
• Ensure data collated are correct and reliable, constantly update and reconcile them with other concerned parties.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Principles and Standards.
• The ability to work in a flexible manner in response to changing daily demands.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Prepared to work in different locations.
• Be prepared to undertake other duties, of appropriate nature, assigned by work colleagues.
• Proactive approach to fulfilling tasks and responsibilities.
