Job Description

Lead and manage Regional Supplier Development & Sustainability (SD&S) within AkzoNobel Sourcing

Improve overall supplier performance across QDCIS dimensions (Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation, Sustainability) while reducing carbon footprint

Focus on a strategically selected group of suppliers (PR & NPR), identified via ALPS Strategic Sourcing Process

Own and drive supplier performance measurement, corrective actions, and proactive improvement initiatives

Broaden sustainability efforts from assessments to innovative process development focused on waste and carbon reduction

Work cross-functionally with Business Areas (BA), RD&I, and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) to align sustainability goals

Support the implementation of supplier improvement programs in line with ALPS and Spend Area Strategies

Ensure selected suppliers adopt carbon and waste reduction targets as part of AkzoNobel’s long-term supply chain sustainability goals

Use performance data to set measurable targets and drive continuous improvement

Lead in defining and enhancing supplier performance monitoring tools and reporting standards

Ensure alignment with AkzoNobel processes, compliance, and corporate values

Experience

University degree or Master’s level (or equivalent through experience)

Approximately 10 years of experience in Global Procurement and Integrated Supply Chain, preferably with a background in supplier improvement programs

Strong change management skills

Excellent communicator – effective with both external partners and internal stakeholders

Stress-resistant, adaptable, with a proactive problem-solving attitude

Sharp eye for improvement opportunities and confident in making sound, timely decisions

Demonstrated ability or willingness to apply continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma)

Basic understanding of Corporate Sustainability Programs, or openness to develop expertise in this area

Regarded by peers as credible, trustworthy, and open-minded

Strong team player – able to build influential relationships without relying on hierarchy

Proven relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders

Willingness and capability to grow within the organization

Familiar with ERP and Business Intelligence (BI) systems

Fluent in English and open to regional / international travel
