JOB PURPOSE
- Manage risks arising from Affin Islamic Bank's activities in collaboration with other risk units within Group Risk Management.
- Formulating risk framework, policies, tools and methodologies for Shariah risk.
- Conduct product reviews and implementation of Shariah risk projects in line with regulatory guidelines and Group Risk Management Framework.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Establish and review Shariah Risk Management Frameworks and Shariah contract policies.Review policies related to Affin Islamic Bank's Shariahernance and operations manuals.Propose tools and methodologies to facilitate the identification, measurement, control, and monitoring Shariah nonpliance risks inherent in Affin Islamic Bank (, Shariah Risk and Controls Self-Assessment, Key Control Self-Assessment).Review and evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and Shariah Key Risk indicators to mitigate Shariah nonpliance risk.Provide risk profiling, risk exposure reporting, and analytics to Management, Shariahmittee, various risk forums, and the Board to enable supervisory oversight, highlight risk areas, and document actions taken to mitigate risks.Track and analyse unrecognized ie arising from Shariah nonpliance activities to gauge occurrence probability and internal control effectiveness.Evaluate Shariah nonpliance risks in new product proposals and conduct reviews.Provide Shariah risk advisory for new or variation of Islamic products.Provide consultative advice to business units / functional lines on Shariah risk.Provide technical support to other control functions and businesses regarding Shariah risk.Provide input and rmendations on Shariah risk matters to the Shariahmittee and various riskmittees.Develop and deliver Shariah risk awareness programs for staff through internal training sessions and workshops.Serve as department's Designatedpliance and Risk Officer (DRCO) to manage risk andpliance matters (, Operational Risk Control Self-Assessment, CMAX CSAR submission, gap analysis).JOB REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Shariah, Islamic Banking, or a related discipline.5 years of relevant work experience in Islamic Banking and Risk Management.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Effectivemunications skills (both written and verbal).Good interpersonal skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.Resourceful and adaptable in a dynamic environments.Good planning and organization skills.Experience in Islamic banking / finance is an advantage.Job ID JR103031
