JobSummary

The ideal candidate willbe responsible for in-house legal matters including legal research,contract review, compliance, litigation support, corporategovernance, risk management, and stakeholdercoordination.

JobResponsibilities

  • LegalResearch :  Assist immediate superior(s) and / or Director ofLegal to conduct legal research on various legal issues, includingcase law, statutes, and regulations, to support the legal team inpreparing legal opinions, memos, andbriefs.
  • Contract Review andDrafting :  Assist immediate superior(s) and / or Director ofLegal in the review, drafting, and negotiation of contracts,agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring compliance withrelevant laws and company policies.
  • ComplianceSupport :  Assist immediate superior(s) and / or Director ofLegal in developing and maintaining compliance policies andprocedures, and provide guidance to internal stakeholders on legaland regulatory requirements.
  • LitigationSupport :  Assist immediate superior(s) and / or Director ofLegal in managing litigation matters by drafting pleadings,gathering evidence, and coordinating with external counsel asneeded.
  • Corporate Governance :  Supportthe legal team in corporate governance matters, including draftingcorporate resolutions, maintaining corporate records, andfacilitating board meetings.
  • RiskManagement :  Assist immediate superior(s) and / or Directorof Legal to identify legal risks and provide recommendations tomitigate potential liabilities, keeping abreast of changes in lawsand regulations that may impact thecompany.
  • Legal DocumentationManagement :  Assist immediate superior(s) and / or Directorof Legal to organise and maintain legal documents and databases,ensuring accuracy and accessibility for the legal team and otherstakeholders. Provide chronology and summary for ongoing legalcases and status updates as well as a proper firing system for eachactive and non-active files.
  • Training andEducation :  Assist immediate superior(s) and / or Director ofLegal in conducting legal training sessions for employees onrelevant legal topics, promoting awareness and understanding oflegal issues across the organisation.
  • LegalAdministration :  Assist immediate superior(s) and / orDirector of Legal in scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars,and managing correspondence. As well as, liaising withstakeholders, courts, and other parties involved in legalproceedings.
  • Stakeholder Management : Interacting with stakeholders to gather information, update them oncase progress, and provide general assistance. They may also helpin explaining legal processes and procedures tostakeholders.
  • Any other responsibilities asdirected by DirectorLegal.

JobRequirements

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Law (LL.B) or equivalent from an accreditedinstitution
  • Possessing prior internship or workexperience in a legal setting which involves research, contractreview, compliance, litigation support, or corporate governance ispreferred but not required.
  • Strong legalresearch and analytical skills with a proficiency in contractdrafting, review, and negotiation.
  • Knowledge ofcorporate governance, compliance, and regulatoryframeworks.
  • Familiarity with litigationprocedures and legal documentationmanagement.
  • Strong verbal and writtencommunication skills.
  • Good organizational andtime management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasksand meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail andhigh level of accuracy in legaldocumentation.
  • Ability to work independently aswell as collaboratively in a teamenvironment.
  • Strong understanding of legal andregulatory compliance.
  • Ability to maintainconfidentiality and handle sensitive legal matters withintegrity.
  • Ability to liaise with internal andexternal stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, courts, andexternal counsel.
