Description

As an Applications Designer, you’ll play a key role in shaping inspiring, functional environments for clients by translating insights into space planning and product application solutions. This is a unique opportunity to work with a collaborative, cross-functional team and bring Steelcase’s research-driven design philosophy to life.

Who You Are

You are a creative and detail-oriented design professional with experience in interior or architectural design. You enjoy solving problems through space and product solutions and thrive in a collaborative environment where your ideas contribute to meaningful, human-centered spaces.

Minimum Qualifications

Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in space planning or workplace design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, PowerPoint, and pCon
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Desired Skills and Experience

Familiarity with Steelcase products and workplace trends

Experience collaborating with sales, consultants, and visualization teams

Ability to respond to RFPs / RFIs and prepare supporting documentation

Knowledge of product customization and specification

Strong conceptual thinking and visualization skills

What You Will Be Doing

Develop space planning and product application solutions using Steelcase’s portfolio and insights

Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to translate client needs into design strategies

Create detailed layouts, specifications, and visualizations to support proposals and installations

Support RFP / RFI responses and design documentation

Contribute to design standards and share best practices across the team
