The QA / QC Executive (Food Science) is responsible for ensuring that all food products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards throughout the production process. This role involves monitoring raw materials, in-process operations, and finished goods, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain compliance with food safety standards, Halal requirements, customer specifications, and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance (QA) :
- Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality management systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, Halal, etc.).
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Coordinate internal audits and support external certification, regulatory, and customer audits.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and ensure compliance with quality and Halal requirements.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Quality Control (QC) :
Monitor and verify incoming raw materials, packaging, in-process, and finished products according to specifications.Perform routine laboratory tests (microbiological, physical, and chemical analyses) as required.Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of QC testing equipment.Maintain accurate QC documentation, inspection records, and test reports.Support production teams in resolving quality issues on the production floor.Continuous Improvement :
Identify opportunities to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.Train and guide production staff on quality standards, hygiene, and food safety practices.Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry trends, and technological advancements in food science.Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or related discipline.Minimum 2–4 years of relevant QA / QC experience in the food manufacturing industry.Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Halal, etc.).Familiarity with microbiological and chemical food testing methods.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Detail-oriented with excellent communication and documentation skills.Able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.Key Competencies
