The QA / QC Executive (Food Science) is responsible for ensuring that all food products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards throughout the production process. This role involves monitoring raw materials, in-process operations, and finished goods, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain compliance with food safety standards, Halal requirements, customer specifications, and statutory regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance (QA) :

  • Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality management systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, Halal, etc.).
  • Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Coordinate internal audits and support external certification, regulatory, and customer audits.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and ensure compliance with quality and Halal requirements.
  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Quality Control (QC) :

  • Monitor and verify incoming raw materials, packaging, in-process, and finished products according to specifications.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests (microbiological, physical, and chemical analyses) as required.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of QC testing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate QC documentation, inspection records, and test reports.
  • Support production teams in resolving quality issues on the production floor.
  • Continuous Improvement :

  • Identify opportunities to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Train and guide production staff on quality standards, hygiene, and food safety practices.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry trends, and technological advancements in food science.
  • Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of relevant QA / QC experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, Halal, etc.).
  • Familiarity with microbiological and chemical food testing methods.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
