Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with all provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health (Amendment) Act 2022, and all other relevant regulations at project sites.
• Develop, implement, and monitor the Project-Specific Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Plan.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and enforce corrective actions.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including Safety Reports, Incident Reports, Toolbox Briefing Records, and Safety Meeting Minutes.
• Lead daily toolbox meetings, safety inductions, and other safety training sessions for workers and subcontractors.
• Monitor compliance with Permit to Work (PTW) systems, safe work procedures, and PPE usage.
• Coordinate and conduct emergency drills, maintain first-aid readiness, and implement emergency response plans.
• Investigate and report all incidents, accidents, and unsafe conditions; recommend preventive and corrective measures.
• Liaise with DOSH, CIDB, local authorities, consultants, and clients on safety inspections, audits, and regulatory matters.
• Monitor and ensure that all machinery and lifting equipment are regularly inspected and certified.
• Participate in site coordination meetings and provide input on safety-related matters.
• Enforce site housekeeping practices to reduce trip, slip, and fire hazards.
• Issue Non-Compliance Reports (NCRs) and follow up on rectification actions.
• Promote and uphold a positive safety culture by coaching and mentoring site personnel and junior safety staff.
• Support management with continuous improvement initiatives and stay updated on industry best practices.
• Ensure alignment of subcontractor HSE practices with main contractor and statutory requirements.
