Assistant Professor (DS13) - Department of Architecture

Responsibilities

• Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and studio-based learning in Architecture and Built Environment related disciplines
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students in research and design projects
• Provide leadership, guidance and advisory role to undergraduate and postgraduate students in the coordinating the design studio projects, student competitions and visits.
• Collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base.
• Setting questions, evaluating and grading assignments, tests, and exams.
• Conducting high-quality research aligned with the department’s focus areas and publish in high-impact journals.
• Actively engage in curriculum development, ensuring alignment with IIUM’s mission and Islamic values.
• Participate in industry collaborations, consultancy projects, and community-based programs
• Contribute to administrative tasks such as student advisement, committee work, and faculty meetings
• Support departmental initiatives, events, and accreditation processes.
• Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.
• Providing support to students and other colleagues.
• Staying current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.
