We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our team and contribute to the success of our ongoing and upcoming construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing comprehensive multidisciplinary designs—including process, mechanical, civil, and electrical aspects for water, wastewater treatment, and water reclamation facilities.
- Prepare and review PFDs (Process Flow Diagrams) and P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams).
- Perform hydraulic calculations, equipment sizing, and piping layout design.
- Analyses various wastewater treatment methods used to prepare water for industrial and domestic use; recommends the most effective method.
- Select suitable treatment technologies (e.g. coagulation-flocculation, filtration, MBR, RO, UV disinfection, aeration systems).
- Designs layout and specifications for various pumping and lifting systems.
- Reviews and critiques water and wastewater treatment system proposals, plans, and designs.
- Conducts appropriate cost-benefit analyses for assigned projects.
- Ensure the systems designed are cost-effective and meet the client and authorities’ requirements.
- Prepare C&S work sheet for costing during tender / quotation.
- Size up and prepare preliminary layout for tender / quotation.
- Obtain quotation and compare prices for the proposed equipment during design.
- Coordinate equipment layout drawings, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and shop drawings with the drafting team.
- Ensure designs meet client specifications, local regulations, and international standards.
- Liaise with the client, consultant or architect for submission to authorities.
- Support authority submission and liaise with consultants and approving bodies (e.g. JBA, SPAN, IWK, DOE).
- Discuss / follow up with authorities for approval.
- Prepare equipment list for Purchasing Department for tendering or secured job.
- Verify all the equipment to be purchase are as specified.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, draftsmen, and construction teams to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
- Conduct site visits to verify design implementation and resolve on-site issues.
- May supervise and give technical directions to engineers, engineering or draftman and other technical staff assisting with water and wastewater projects.
- Review vendor drawings, equipment specifications, and shop drawings for compliance with design intent.
- Provide technical support during procurement, installation, and commissioning stages.
- Participate in as-built drawing preparation and operation manuals development.
Qualifications
Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree / Post Graduate Diploma / Professional Degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Science or equivalent.Minimum 5 years working experience in related field.Computer literate with experience and skills working with various GIS software such as ArcGis, AutoDesk, AutoCAD, QGIS, GRASS, Globalmappe, Aquis, Access, Biowin.Good communication and written in English and Bahasa Malaysia.Ocned Water Technology Sdn.
