Senior Mechanical Engineer - Buildings

Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management, and development consultancy. As a leading firm in Malaysia, we’re expanding our Buildings team and looking for a passionate Senior Mechanical Engineer to help us deliver, innovative, and socially impactful projects.

You’ll be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team working on both local and international projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary experts across sectors including Built Environment, Advisory, Transport, Water, and Energy.

What You’ll Do

• Design mechanical systems for building services : HVAC, fire protection, and sanitary systems.
• Lead or contribute to project delivery, ensuring technical excellence, timeliness, and budget alignment.
• Champion innovation and sustainability in mechanical design.
• Work with BIM tools and computational design to enhance engineering outcomes.
• Collaborate globally with Mott MacDonald teams across regions.
• Engage in business development and integrate digital solutions into project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in building services within a consultancy environment.
• Candidates with more experience may be considered for senior roles.
• Progressing toward professional or chartered engineering status.
• Strong understanding of local building codes and regulations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Passion for digital innovation and sustainable design.
• Commercial awareness and a collaborative mindset.
