We are hiring on behalf of a fast growing fintech company that is seeking a skilled Database Administrator to support and strengthen its core data infrastructure. In this role, you will help ensure that all database platforms remain secure, reliable and optimized, supporting high performance applications used by thousands of customers. You will join a collaborative tech driven environment where innovation, scalability and data integrity are essential.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain stable and high performing database servers.
- Develop and implement procedures that improve overall database efficiency and security.
- Establish and uphold consistent database standards across the organization.
- Manage and control user access to database systems.
- Perform tuning and optimization across database platforms.
- Install, upgrade and manage database related software and applications.
- Diagnose, analyze and resolve database issues and errors.
- Research new database technologies and recommend suitable adoption.
- Create and manage reports, dashboards and data visualizations.
- Automate recurring database tasks to improve efficiency.
- Configure and maintain database replication to support Disaster Recovery environments.
- Collaborate with Development and Application Support teams to design, maintain and refine database schemas and indexes.
- Provide on call support when required.
Qualifications
Holds a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced or Higher or Graduate Diploma, Bachelors Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.Strong experience working with SQL commands and SQL Server tools.Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery methods, replication processes and performance monitoring.Solid understanding of application server administration such as Apache Tomcat and Oracle WebLogic.Knowledge of relational and dimensional data modelling.Experience with PowerShell and Unix shell scripting.Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS.Hands on experience with both Linux and Windows Server environments.Extensive experience working with database technologies such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle and MongoDB.Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure is an advantage.Seniority level
