Overview

Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Windows) at Hytech in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure high availability and performance of Windows infrastructure, applications, and services.
  • Design, architect and implement Windows AD policies, optimization and hardening in Windows environments.
  • Automate repetitive tasks, workflows, and deployments using scripting.
  • Deploy observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch) for system health monitoring.
  • Manage workload patching strategies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support across the internal team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business units to ensure processes align with organizational standards.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience as an SRE, Wintel Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Expert in scripting languages like PowerShell, Python, Bash, or other similar languages.
  • Experience with Windows on-premises environments; on-premise experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP / IP, routing) and Windows Server core services (AD, GPO, Registry Key, Sysinternals).
  • Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS Lambda; experience is a plus.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Windows Server, security, or other infrastructure areas are advantageous.
  • Shift rotation is required with extra compensation.
  • Ability to speak and converse in English; Chinese language skills are a plus.
