Position Overview :
The Kitchen Helper plays a crucial role in supporting food preparation and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. This position is responsible for assisting in food preparation, maintaining kitchen housekeeping, and supporting the chef in daily operations. The Kitchen Helper will handle basic food preparation, arrange food items properly, and carry out ad-hoc tasks as assigned by superiors.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities :
Food Preparation Support
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as cutting and supporting the commis.
- Follow instructions from chefs and colleagues to ensure efficient food preparation.
Kitchen Housekeeping
Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organized workspace on a daily basis.Ensure proper disposal of waste and regular cleaning of kitchen surfaces and equipment.Chef Support
Assist the chef in day-to-day kitchen operations as needed.Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow.Basic Food Preparation
Clean and prepare basic food items (e.g., vegetables, ingredients) as instructed.Ensure proper storage and handling of food items.Food Item Arrangement
Arrange food items properly for easy access during food preparation.Ensure all food items are correctly labeled and stored.Ad-hoc Assignments
Perform ad-hoc assignments or other tasks assigned by superiors.Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet kitchen needs.Qualifications :
Minimum Primary / Secondary school education.Able to communicate effectively in Mandarin (speaking and understanding required).Chinese candidates are preferred.Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques is an advantage.Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and sanitation standards.Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.Physically fit to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks.Work Location : KLCC Area
