Job description
Overview
Supervise the planning, scheduling, and execution of solar projects from initiation to completion, including handling authority and licensing requirements.
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
Perform routine site inspections to track progress, enforce safety measures, and maintain regulatory compliance.
Identify and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize delays and maintain project efficiency.
Oversee daily operations across all sites to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.
Develop and execute preventive and corrective maintenance plans for solar assets.
Track energy output and performance ratios, implementing measures to optimize results.
Address operational incidents quickly and ensure effective resolution.
Supervise multiple operational department managers, including Project, Licensing, QS, and O&M.
Allocate resources strategically to ensure projects are delivered on schedule.
Conduct coaching, training, and performance evaluations to enhance staff capabilities.
Foster a culture centered on accountability, safety, and collaboration.
Ensure all operations comply with local regulations, permits, and industry standards.
Uphold and enforce stringent Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices across all sites.
Compile and submit compliance and progress reports to both management and regulatory bodies.
Develop and oversee project and operational budgets.
Manage costs through strategic procurement and supplier negotiations.
Monitor project expenses and highlight variances, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Maintain project dashboards and reports on operational performance.
Monitor key operational metrics, including uptime, cost per MW, and safety incidents.
Deliver regular updates to the executive director and management on operational status.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
8–10 years of experience in operations or project management, including 3–5 years in solar or renewable energy.
Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale solar or energy projects.
In-depth understanding of construction processes, O&M practices, and safety regulations.
Skilled in managing suppliers and contractors effectively.
