Overview
Assistant Accountant role at Veeam Software, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The position supports business growth and expansion across the Asia Pacific and Japan region. This full-time role provides an opportunity to apply accounting knowledge, broaden responsibilities, and collaborate with an experienced, agile team.
Responsibilities And Duties
- Prepare financial reports for multiple entities in the APJ region
- Complete month-end activities, including :
Preparation of accruals and prepayments
Preparation of bank / credit card, intercompany, finance lease reconciliationsMaintenance of fixed assets, depreciation and expense amortisation schedulesForeign exchange remeasurementVariance analysisEnsure all company transactions are recorded accurately and promptlySupport tax compliance activitiesProcess payments in a timely and efficient mannerAssist with the preparation of cash flow forecastsHandle multi-currency transactions and foreign exchange remeasurement processProvide timely and accurate financial information to support informed business decisionsSupport the statutory audit process for entities within the region, serving as a point of contact for external auditorsAssist with other compliance matters which may ariseAssist other business departments with accounting issues and queries as neededOther duties and responsibilities as assignedJob Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Working towards a CPA or equivalent international certification (e.g., ACCA) is highly preferred3+ years of experience in a similar role, including handling financial reporting and month-end close activitiesExperience supporting change and process improvements; ability to contribute in group discussionsGood understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practicesFluency in English is required; knowledge of other Asian languages is an advantageExperience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, and Workday (Desirable)Ability to work independently and within a flexible team environmentAttention to detail and numerical precisionExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced computer skills, including strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft-based applicationsEqual Opportunity
