Malaysia Airlines Position Title : Executive Technical Services Engineer, Avionics & Cabin Systems Report To : Manager, Technical Services Position Summary : Provide engineering development and service engineering support in aircraft avionics, electrical, instrumentation, and in-flight entertainment and communication systems under relevant ATA Chapters, ensuring fleet reliability, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Accountability : Provide engineering and service support for avionics, electrical, instrumentation, and in-flight entertainment / communication systems under ATA Chapters 11, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 36, 38, 44, and 47 for the MW fleet. Conduct studies and implement solutions to resolve technical issues and improve aircraft dispatch reliability. Support operations and production teams on assigned ATA Chapter systems. Perform other avionics-related or technical duties as assigned by the Manager or Assistant Manager, Technical Services. Maintain efficient administration within the section and ensure timely completion of tasks. Ensure personnel skills, training, and procedures meet current regulatory and operational requirements. Recommend and implement modifications, equipment changes, and policy updates to improve system performance and compliance. Assess emerging technologies for suitability and applicability to the fleet. Provide continuous technical support to operations and production. Liaise with vendors, airlines, authorities, overhaul agencies, and internal teams on technical matters. Implement corrective and preventive actions arising from audits and compliance monitoring. Coordinate department input and respond promptly to issues raised in daily Engineering Operations Meetings. Evaluate Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins for operational and regulatory impact. Ensure timely resolution of long-standing aircraft and component defects. Conduct reliability studies on components, PIREPs, and MAREPs to monitor OTP, fleet reliability, and safety trends, initiating corrective action where necessary. Qualification & Working Experience : Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical / Aircraft / Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience. Strong understanding of aircraft electrical and electronic systems integration, instrumentation, electrical load analysis (ELA), and maintenance of aircraft avionics systems. Effective communication, both written and verbal, is crucial for collaborating with other CAMO stakeholders, OEMs and Engineering teams such as Base / Line Maintenance. Familiarity with aviation regulations and requirements related to aircraft avionics and cabin systems. Authority : Authorized to undertake technical evaluations, recommend modifications, and liaise with OEMs, vendors, and regulatory bodies to maintain compliance and fleet reliability.
