Senior Quantity Surveyor (Specialist in Aluminium & Glass)

Responsibilities

• Managing and working with clients and other stakeholders to ensure delivery against client expectations
• Work autonomously with minimal or no input from Directors
• Monitoring compliance with the scope of services
• Reporting to and advising clients and stakeholders
• Issuing and reviewing reports to clients
• Attending and actively taking part in design team, client and other project meetings, identifying issues and advising on solutions as they arise
• Advising on the choice of construction solutions for a project
• Advising on the appropriateness of various procurement routes
• Preparing procurement and tendering reports
• Managing the tendering and negotiation process
• Evaluating the appropriateness and implications of proposed contractual amendments
• Selecting the appropriate form of contract for your chosen procurement route
• Advising on the most appropriate contractual procedure at the various stages of a contract
• Giving reasoned advice on different dispute resolution
• Support, assist and lead Trainee, Assistant, Intermediate and Quantity Surveyors as required
• Attend site visits independently
• Attend meetings independently
• Take meeting notes
• Managing, producing, presenting and taking responsibility for the completion of Order of Cost Estimates, Elemental Cost Plans and Bills of Quantities; managing deadlines and quality of documentation
• Calculating quantities and priced rates on complex sections of measurement for inclusion in Order of Cost Estimates, Elemental Cost Plans and Bills of Quantities
• Undertake and manage value engineering processes
• Production of proposals including option appraisals
• Advising on the impact of different design solutions and construction processes on cost and programme
• Assessing / evaluating market factors and trends in construction costs
• Analysing the accuracy of predicted cost using benchmarking techniques
• Management and production of reports with reference to cost, time, quality, risk and buildability
• Provide advice on the selection of the appropriate form of contract for your chosen procurement route
• Managing, producing and taking responsibility for the completion of tender documentation; managing deadlines and quality of documentation
• Managing and producing pricing documents
• Managing and producing tender reports; advising the Client as necessary
• Undertaking negotiation process to finalise contracts
• Manage the production and finalisation of contract documentation
• Quantifying construction works at the various stages of a project
• Preparation of financial reports
• Undertaking valuations and value loss and expense claims
• Quantify and price variations, negotiate and agree with contractors
• Produce and agree final accounts and / or notional final accounts due to contractor liquidation
