Overview
Directly take charge of or lead the team to formulate and implement material category strategies and supplier strategies, identify and manage suppliers, achieve cost-saving targets and centralized procurement goals, and ensure a stable and reliable supplier base.
Responsibilities
- Develop commodity and supplier strategies (either independently or by leading the team), align with the China headquarters, and secure consensus from senior management.
- Drive the procurement team to proactively identify opportunities for centralized procurement of raw materials to reduce procurement costs, improve supplier delivery capabilities, and better support the company’s operations. Develop the most suitable supply base for the company in terms of suppliers’ technical capabilities, quality consistency, competitive pricing, production capacity, and overall business suitability.
- Lead the collection and analysis of tenders, negotiate with suppliers, and manage total landed cost.
- Utilize project management tools and techniques to conceive, approve, and execute projects for continuous cost reduction; collaborate internally and externally as needed. Monitor market trends of commodity pricing based on supplier quotations and apply such knowledge to help the company achieve the lowest possible cost.
- Manage business relationships with suppliers, including monitoring negotiated contracts to ensure requirements in terms of technology, quality, cost, and service are met; proactively implement best practices and drive continuous improvement.
- Align with global demands and processes, formulate and implement the most appropriate processes for the China strategic procurement function, and maintain data integrity in data systems.
- Manage and enhance the overall capabilities of international and Chinese suppliers to better support the group’s global procurement business.
- Support or lead assigned tasks such as project procurement and factory execution procurement as required by work needs.
Requirements
1. Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
Education Background : Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related disciplines.Industry Experience : Must have experience in the automotive industry and be familiar with the aforementioned sourcing categories (Electronic & Electrical, Metal & Machining, Non-metal & Molding).SQE Background : Must have relevant Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) experience (non-negotiable).2. Core Competencies
Proficient in supplier development, cross-functional coordination, and problem-solving (these are key evaluation areas).Strong technical knowledge of the performance and manufacturing processes of electronic / electrical products, mechanical commodities, or metal / non-metal materials and their end products.Senior )rity level
