Job description

Permodalan Kedah Berhad, a leading investment holding company, is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team in Alor Setar, Kedah. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in our Financial Accounting & Reporting operations, contributing to the company's financial stability and overall success.

What you'll be doing

Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and other accounting functions
Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts on a regular basis
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and other financial reports
Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure timely and accurate reporting
Provide financial advice and support to management on strategic decision-making
Mentor and train junior members of the accounting team, sharing your expertise and best practices

What we're looking for

Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience in a similar senior accounting role, preferably within a large organisation or investment company

Proven track record in financial reporting, general ledger management and accounting operations

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders

Proficiency in the use of accounting software, spreadsheets and other financial reporting tools

Thorough knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and relevant accounting regulations

A recognised professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA or CPA
