Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Head of Well Services, the Well Testing Engineer plays a key role in overseeing the planning, detailed engineering, and execution of Tubing Stem Test (TST) Well Testing operations. The position ensures that all activities are carried out safely, accurately, and efficiently, in line with technical and operational standards. Combining hands‑on engineering proficiency with strong leadership and coordination, the role is instrumental in delivering high‑quality data and performance throughout the Phase 8 E&A Well Testing Campaign.
Scope of Works
- Develop TST well testing programs that align with COMPANYs HSE standards and achieve E&A well objectives. Select appropriate testing equipment and ensure proper configuration and calibration.
- Lead Hazard Identification (HAZID), Hazard and Operability (HAZOP), and Test Well on Paper (TWOP) workshops, delivering structured risk assessments and preparing detailed documentation to support COMPANYs value assurance review.
- Generate detailed cost estimates for the Well Authorization for Expenditure (AFE), covering all phases of TST operations.
- Assess and implement the application of new well testing technologies or techniques, particularly for challenging environments such as High Pressure / High Temperature (HP / HT) wells.
- Collaborate with business partners to lead the preparation, commissioning, and acceptance testing of well testing units.
- Lead and supervise well testing contractors on‑site to ensure HSE compliance, SOP compliance and adherence to operational plans. Coordinate logistics, equipment mobilization / demobilization, and personnel scheduling. Monitor real‑time operations and resolve issues promptly to minimize non‑productive time (NPT).
- Facilitate daily operational reporting and stakeholder communication, including management updates, non‑conformance reporting, and documentation of any deviations, with proper escalation through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
- Drive continuous performance improvement by identifying operational efficiencies and tracking contractor performance.
- Prepare the End of Well Report by conducting a detailed TST operations post‑mortem, covering operational execution, HSE performance, contractor efficiency, and non‑productive time (NPT), with documented lessons learned to inform future operations.
- Train and mentor junior engineers, supporting technical development and succession readiness within the team.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Engineering or significant relevant work experience in Drilling / Completion / Well Services.10 years of experience in Well Testing operations, including supervisory and engineering roles.Strong knowledge of well testing equipment, data acquisition systems, TST procedures and pressure transient analysis.Work Experience with HPHT Well Testing, TST Well Testing, Well Intervention and Contractor Management.Proven leadership and team management skills.Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.Note : Only those applicants who meet the above criteria will be contacted as part of shortlisting process
