CAD Designer / Modeller

Overview

As a CAD Modeller, you will play a key role in generating accurate 2D and 3D drawings for the design and production of sheet metal enclosures, electrical panels, and assemblies. Your work will directly support fabrication, assembly, and product development processes. We are transitioning to a 3D modelling environment and improving design-to-production workflows, standardising modelling practices and enhancing integration between design and manufacturing systems. The company is based in Bayan Lepas, Penang and will expand to Batu Kawan, Penang by 2026.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise 2D drawings and 3D models of sheet metal electrical enclosures, fabricated parts, and assemblies using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Prepare and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing details for each design, ensuring smooth integration with the company’s ERP system for production planning.
• Maintain and manage the CAD file structure, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and revision control in accordance with internal standards.
• Assist in the development of design libraries, drawing templates, and standard parts databases to improve design efficiency.
