Graduate Design Product Engineer

About the Role

Daifuku Oceania, a global leader in automation, is seeking a Graduate Product Design Engineer to become a member of our dedicated Product Engineering team based at our Factory in Negeri Sembilan.

As a Graduate Product Design Engineer in our Product Engineering team, you will contribute to engineering development, product design and continuous improvement of Daifuku’s baggage and freight handling products. This role involves CAD modelling, technical drafting, and product documentation, ensuring that Daifuku’s engineering standards are met.

You will collaborate across departments, including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and Engineering to support product innovation and design enhancements.

Our Team

The existing product team at Daifuku Oceania plays a vital role in engineering, innovation and continuous product development, particularly for baggage and freight handling systems. This team is responsible for refining designs, improving efficiencies, and ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities

In this role, your main focus will be :

• Engineer new designs and improvements for baggage and freight handling system products.
• Draft and maintain technical documentation including CAD models, specifications, manuals and engineering drawings.
• Prepare engineering change orders (ECOs) to update product documentation.
• Conduct design evaluations and analysis through engineering reviews and physical testing.
• Ensure compliance with technical drawings standards, material specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• Support cross functional teams such as Procurement, Operations, and Project Engineering.

Your Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials.
• Proficiency in technical drafting using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
• Ability to analyse design feasibility and improve engineering efficiencies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and business use.

Desirable

• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack up analysis.
• Understanding of metal fabrication processes (sheet metal bending, welding, machining, laser-cutting).
• Exposure to electrical & electronics technology (motors, sensors, actuators).
• Knowledge of quality control and metrology methods.
• Experience in design and development of mechanical components using 3D CAD.
