Overview
Engineer II, New Product Introduction Engineering location : Kulim. This role helps shape product design and manufacturing processes to enable efficient, high-quality production. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in manufacturability while focusing on safety, quality, and stage gate commitments.
What You’ll Do
- Influence product design teams to drive improvements in design and manufacturing processes, enhancing manufacturability and quality standards.
- Collaborate across functions using strong interpersonal and influencing skills to align on goals and drive execution.
- Partner with the Product Development team to implement solutions that meet design, manufacturing, and stage gate requirements with a consistent focus on safety and quality.
- Work with Production and Operations teams—including Manufacturing Engineers, Supervisors, and Technicians—to ensure manufacturing readiness and successful product transitions from development to release.
- Manage multiple projects across the product portfolio in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
- Foster a collaborative, learning-oriented culture within the team by sharing knowledge and supporting internal customers.
- Introduce new processes for existing products or support the transfer of products and processes from global locations.
- Serve as a core team member on assigned NPI projects, acting as the liaison between Development Engineering and Operations to accelerate product launches.
- Influence product and process design to ensure safe, efficient, and quality-driven manufacturability.
- Lead project execution using the Accolade project management system, ensuring timely task completion and stakeholder alignment.
- Learn continuously from experienced NPI and Operations Engineers to enhance technical and operational capabilities.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including equipment selection, waste management strategies, ramp-up / capacity planning, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with global internal customers and sister facilities to support NPI activities and product / process transfers.
- Prepare detailed process documentation to support product launches and manufacturing operations.
- Manage internal and customer samples for product qualification builds.
- Support global expansion initiatives by coordinating the transfer of products and processes.
- Provide special instructions and operational guidance to ensure smooth production execution.
- Conduct process audits and analyses to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, cost, waste reduction, and efficiency.
- Ensure all processes are directed and controlled in accordance with established policies and procedures.
What We Seek
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering.Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.Technical Expertise : strong technical skills to identify and resolve process gaps, including welding, fabrication, physical testing, and electro-mechanical design.Experience actively pulling products into manufacturing while ensuring process and quality capability.Ability to create data-driven NPI plans to support long-term portfolio success.Project & Process Management : skilled in managing tasks to meet stage gate milestones and other key commitments.Experience with structured development processes such as stage gate methodologies (e.g., Accolade).Proven ability to orchestrate and prioritize multiple activities to achieve divisional goals.Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives.Teamwork & Collaboration : strong independent performer with a collaborative mindset and demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Excellent communication skills in English, with strong documentation and technical writing abilities.Experience working in a global organization, supporting intercompany goals and cross-regional collaboration.Outstanding Candidates Will Have
