Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our team at RHB Banking Group. In this role, you will work with mainframe systems and COBOL programming, with a focus on card payment domains including credit, debit, and ATM systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver technical solutions that support business needs, optimize existing applications, and ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.

What you will be doing

• Working experience in Mainframe with Cobol programming language, preferable with Credit card, debit card and ATM domian knowledge and experiences.
• Knowledge in banking cards payment system like Visa, Master card and MyDebit architecture and their accompanying periphery system.
• Manage manufacturing and delivery of IT application, change requests, internally and with SBU Engagement Manager / SMEs to ensure the consistency and proper functioning of the application system and to meet Business needs.
• Develop technical solution within the boundaries of the existing ecosystem.
• Engage with Squad Lead to develop and manage request deliverables, plan and timeline.
• Evaluating business process, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas of improvement, developing and implementing solutions.
• Review requirement analysis & SIT testing scope.
• Identify potential risks and issues in the delivery process and develop mitigation strategies.
• Drive efficiency and effectiveness within the solution delivery function with high-quality standards and adhere to best practices.
• Complete understanding of systems usage as it relates to day to day business operations and advocating improvements to optimize efficiency and effectiveness of the solution.
• Provide production support and assist in identifying root causes of application lapses.
• Provide post-implementation support to the business users related to their areas of supports.
• Ensure compliance to all processes, audit and risk matters in the execution of user story.
